This school laid the foundation for what Legacy Entertainment Group embodies today in our commitment to our artists and clients alike. Hannon Murphy School of Irish Dance
Led by Patricia and her daughter Kathleen, the Hannon Murphy school became one of the most successful schools in England and Ireland, winning everything from the North American Nationals to the World Irish Dance Championships. With successes across England, Scotland, Ireland and the USA, the Hannon Murphy school went on to have 5 dancers in Michael Flatley’s ‘Lord of the Dance’ at the same time. Pupils Kelly Hendry and Chris Hannon went on to perform lead roles alongside Michael, with Chris performing lead in both ‘Lord of the Dance’ and ‘Feet of Flames’
Murphy's Legacy- 2013-2017
Murphy’s Legacy was created by Chris Hannon and first performed by the Hannon Murphy School in 2013 as an amateur production. After selling out in five theatres across North East England, the stage was set for further development into a full production show. In January 2015, the show premiered to a sold-out audience of over 2,500 people at Sage Gateshead. With an original soundtrack composed by John Elliott and breathtaking new choreography by Chris Hannon, the production was poised for greater success. The audience's enthusiastic response confirmed that Chris was on the right path. Murphy's Legacy went on to perform to sold-out audiences in the Middle East and Cyprus and made its debut on MSC Cruises.
Emerald Isle 2017-2024
In 2017, Chris Hannon was tasked with creating an Irish Dance show for hotel resorts in Cyprus. With only four dancers and a 45-minute performance, this was a significant challenge. The show premiered in March 2017 and became a huge success across the island, with over 600 performances. It has also been a prominent feature on MSC Cruises, completing no fewer than 30 cruises, where our dancers teach the art of Irish Dance alongside performing the show. In 2018, the show premiered at Warner Leisure Hotels, where it continues to be a featured act.
Murphy's Celtic Legacy 2018-Present
In 2018, MCL secured its first contract to tour the USA. Legacy Entertainment, led by Chris Hannon, began transforming 'Murphy’s Legacy' into a breathtaking theatre production. With contributions from composer John Elliott, Media L.E.G Director Rob Irish, Ben Rodgers, a critically acclaimed show production designer with over 200 productions worldwide, the team embarked on redesigning the show. Debuting in February 2019 in Ireland, the show received 30 standing ovations during its USA tour, paving the way for tours in France, the UK, Switzerland, Cyprus, Germany, Oman, and Qatar. The show continues to grow and is set to return to the USA in 2025, with plans for tours in Asia and Europe.
